Trade Journals

What does a trade article look like?

A trade article looks like a professional article written for people who work in or closely follow a particular industry. It usually focuses on topics such as industry news, market developments, new products, company announcements, case studies, or expert opinions.

Trade articles tend to use terminology that readers in the field already understand. They are usually easier to read than academic papers and place more attention on practical information than detailed research methodology.

A trade article can also include interviews, quotes from industry professionals, product information, and advertisements aimed at the same professional audience. This makes trade publications different from scholarly journals, which place much more emphasis on research methods, citations, and peer review.
